Menurut Direktur Pembinaan SMK Kemendiknas RI, Joko Sutrisno, pada acara jumpa pers di Gedung Kemendiknas RI di Jakarta, Selasa (11/5), selain siswa peserta, ajang LKS juga akan dihadiri 1.500 guru pendamping, 20 juri, dan 10 orang panitia, sehingga jumlah semuanya mencapai 3.500 orang.

“Selain itu akan hadir juga para undangan dan penggembira dari Bali yang akan mengirimkan tim pendamping lebih dari 12 orang, serta masyarakat pengunjung yang ingin menyaksikan secara langsung, apalagi secara bersamaan akan digelar pameran,” katanya.
Menurut dia, LKS SMK akan melombakan 50 bidang lomba, sehingga diharapkan dapat mewakili bidang-bidang kompetensi yang diajarkan di SMK. Para peserta LKS SMK itu, katanya, merupakan para juara hasil seleksi di tingkat provinsi.

Menurut dia, tujuan LKS SMK itu, pertama, untuk meningkatkan citra SMK melalui unjuk kemampuan dan pengukuran puncak-puncak prestasi keterampilan siswa. Selain berkompetisi, katanya, para siswa juga berkeinginan mempertontonkan kompetensinya kepada kalangan industri.
Tujuan kedua, katanya, juga merupakan sarana promosi kompetensi anak SMK, sehingga para orangtua dan pengguna tenaga siswa itu mengetahui persis apa yang bisa dilakukan siswa-siswa SMK.

Joko menambahkan, bagi siswa yang tampil sebagai juara, akan diikutsertakan dalam ajang kompetensi tingkat internasional, yaitu untuk tingkat ASEAN dan dunia. Sebelum dikirim ke kompetisi di luar negeri, katanya, mereka akan menjalani persiapan intensif selama dua bulan di Jakarta.
“Kami juga mengundang anggota Komisi X DPR dan pejabat dari beberapa kementerian terkait, termasuk pimpinan panitia kejuaran kompetensi SMK tingkat ASEAN dan tingkat dunia,” katanya.
Joko added, for students who emerge as champion, will be included in the international arena level of competence, namely to the level of ASEAN and the world. Before being sent to overseas competition, he said, they will undergo intensive preparation for two months in Jakarta.

Dikemukakan juga para pemenang akan memperoleh medali dan uang pembinaan siswa, modal kerja serta peralatan tangan, sedangkan juara umum LKS akan memperoleh Piala Bergilir Mendiknas RI. “Semua peraih medali tingkat nasional LKS kami usulkan memperoleh beasiswa,” kata Joko Sutrisno.
“Selain menggelar LKS, akan diadakan juga Pameran Karya Siswa SMK bersama 30 mitra industrinya. Primadona yang akan ditampilkan dalam pameran itu, di antaranya adalah produk unggulan kendaraan roda empat atau mobil nasional, dan note book,” katanya. (T.Ad/ysoel)
